Is NFAT 2026 cancelled? What is the new admission process?

Yes, NFSU has officially cancelled the National Forensic Admission Test (NFAT) from 2026-27 onwards. Admissions to UG programs are now through CUET-UG (for BSc+MSc Forensic Science, BSc Criminology, BBA-MBA), JEE Main (for BTech Cyber Security), and CLAT (for law programs). PG admissions are through CUET-PG, GATE, or CAT depending on the program. There is no NFAT in 2026-27.

NFSU has 15 domestic campuses: Gandhinagar, Delhi, Goa, Bhopal, Pune, Dharwad, Tripura, Guwahati, Manipur, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Raipur, Jaipur, Nagpur, and Varanasi. Plus 1 International Campus in Jinja, Uganda. Three new campuses (Nagpur, Raipur, Bhubaneswar) were officially notified by MHA in March 2025.

BSc+MSc Forensic Science (5yr Integrated) focuses on lab-based forensic analysis — forensic biology, chemistry, toxicology, fingerprinting, DNA analysis, etc. BSc Criminology & Forensic Science is a UG program combining criminology (study of crime, criminals, criminal behaviour) with forensic science applications. Forensic Science has lab science focus; Criminology has social-legal science focus. Both are via CUET-UG (Science stream).

Delhi campus is second choice with strong placement networks. Goa and Bhopal are also good options. Newer campuses (Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Nagpur) are growing and have lower cutoffs — great for students with lower CUET scores.
